Moving Forward: My Journey of Self-Discovery
Moving Forward: My Journey of Self-Discovery👀
Hi everyone, I am Ng Kang Yu and welcome to my blog! I'm a Malaysian and I'm currently pursuing a Diploma in Business Management and this is my final semester. Although I chose Business Management as my field of study, I honestly don't have much interest in business. When I first chose this programme, it was really just because I didn't want to enter the workforce too early, and I hoped to find my own interest and direction during my studies.
When I was young, my parents always wanted me to experience the hardship of earning money early, so I started doing various part-time jobs and holiday jobs since I was young. I worked as a packer in a biscuit factory, screwed screws in a factory, followed a master to install homes and even worked as a salesperson at large events. These jobs taught me many practical skills and developed my spirit of hard work and endurance.
At that time, I had a simple belief: as long as I worked hard enough, I would definitely succeed in starting my own business in the future. I firmly believed that if I worked hard, my life would be better in the future.
However, as I grew older and gained life experience, my horizons gradually expanded and my goals became bigger and bigger. The demands and pressures of life made me realise that working hard alone might not be enough. Starting a business, making money, and realising one's dreams - these goals may seem simple, but behind them lie many unknown difficulties and challenges.
Thus, I began to rethink the direction of my life. Since life is short, why not start doing things that I like? I decided to start exploring various new things. I tried hiking, playing badminton, came into contact with the insurance industry, the editing industry, and even experienced jobs such as parcel delivery. Through these experiences, I gradually learnt about the pains and risks of various industries, and was slowly clarifying my future direction.
When I went to university, I started to participate in activities organised by the school, which enhanced my preparation and leadership skills. At the same time, I realised the importance of time management and learned to find a balance between friendship, love, studies, family and money. Although this was no small challenge, I gradually acquired the skills to navigate through different areas.
In terms of music, I have been consistently learning the piano and have now reached Grade 6. In my free time, I also like to practice and play. Music gives me inner peace and a way to express myself. In sports, I have always loved badminton. I think back to the first days when my sneakers flew off to hit my opponent, to the present day when I am able to kill the ball with confidence, with a lot of emotions. Although I was eliminated in the preliminary round of the tournament, the process made me cherish my progress and growth even more.
With the accumulation of these experiences, I have gradually clarified my future direction. Although the future is still full of unknowns, I believe that through continuous attempts and endeavours, I will eventually find a path that truly belongs to me. Thank you for following my blog, and I hope my story can bring you some inspiration and motivation!
